Volunteer in a Prison?  Are You Mad?

 

 WHAT: Several Seattle-area “prison and reentry nonprofits” talk about the work they do and the value delivered.  Come for dinner and be community-engaged!

HOST:  National Network of Prison Nonprofits (NC4RSO).

WHEN:  On the National Day of Prison and Reentry Nonprofits – November 6, 7:00 – 8:30 pm.

WHERE: Shalimar Restaurant, 4215 University Way NE, Seattle (U District).  Accommodates vegan, food allergies, etc.

WHY: 95% of the 2.2 million Americans in prison get released. When incarcerated individuals get released in King County, do you want more than to have them released after “just being locked up?” Democracy requires to public to engage in solving community challenges.
